The Benzodiazepines and Other Targeted Substances Regulations

The Benzodiazepines and Other Targeted Substances Regulations (2014), like the other regulations under the CDSA, outline the requirements for pharmacists, practitioners, hospitals and businesses related to benzodiazepines and targeted substances. Due to their sedative and anti-anxiety properties, benzodiazepines are agents that, while appropriate for short-term management of certain medical conditions, have become agents of misuse and are therefore, included as a controlled drug or substance under the CDSA.
