Introduction

There are a number of medications that are not included in the schedules of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act but are monitored in some jurisdictions because of their psychoactive properties and similar pharmacological effects. Examples of some of these are presented in this lesson. It is important for NP prescribers to be aware of the regulations and policies in their local jurisdictions related to the management of these medications.
