Disposal of unused or expired medications to increase safety

Potential misuse and abuse of controlled drugs can be mitigated by proper disposal of prescribed medications. Unused and expired medications can be taken back to any pharmacy.  In addition, some municipalities and local police forces offer take-back programs.  You can investigate the take-back program for your jurisdiction at the Health Products Stewardship Association website.
