ADHD: Comprehensive assessment (cont’d)
Substance use history
Current, past, and family history of substance use, abuse, and addiction needs to be assessed. Substances of concern include alcohol, marijuana, tobacco, benzodiazepines, opioids, cocaine, amphetamines, barbiturates, hallucinogens, and solvents. Any attendance or family history of attendance at a treatment program for addiction should also be assessed.
