The resolution of particular cases depends on the answers to the four topic questions but will be influenced by how similar cases in your practice have been discussed and managed. Using the four topics approach can help you reflect on the issues and identify the most ethical course of action. If using this approach fails to help you identify an approach to use in a given situation, you are encouraged to implement a formal ethics consultation within your health care organization.
