Summary

Regulatory colleges and associations have an important role in supporting RNs and NPs in their roles related to CDS prescribing and management. Structures and mechanisms vary across Canada, but the theme of public protection is evident in the documents and resources developed by each regulatory body. These resources are invaluable supports for nurses in all practice settings including direct patient care, education, administration and research. In addition, nurses are responsible for maintaining fitness to practice through lifelong learning.
